The Active Reader Worksheet Set - LEVEL 2
The Active Reader Worksheets Set - Level 2 includes more than 90 pages of worksheets for students, covering 30 letters and digraphs. This package has been created to teach children how to read using Structured Literacy.
Level 2 is intended for children in Grade 1 and 2, or those who have completed level 1 with mastery (please see Level 1 for more beginning readers).
For each letter or digraph, you will find the following worksheets:
Sound sheet - draw, colour, and write the letter and learn the letter sound.
Word lists - fill in the word list and read through a curated decodable word list.
Decodable sentences - recognize the lesson objective within the context of a sentence and read through the decodable sentences.
Each letter of the alphabet, including digraphs, have been broken down in a step-by-step manner. Patterns, consistencies and decodable sounds are used to teach the child the basics of reading and writing. All sounds are introduced in an ordered fashion so the child will experience success and mastery along the way.
All materials and exercises are rooted in the principles of Structured Literacy and Orton Gillingham based strategies that are simple to execute yet effective. Our worksheet set will systematically improve a child’s reading skills and build the literacy foundation needed to be a confident and enthusiastic learner.
